“Resident Evil 6” Officially Announced, Outbreaking in November
Capcom took time to announce one of the worst kept secrets in gaming: Resident Evil 6.
Even though everybody knew of its existence, I’m not sure anybody could’ve expected an entry that looks so action-packed, appearing to feature multiple protagonists, including fan favorites Leon S. Kennedy and Chris Redfield. The new game seems to also contain new gameplay elements such as strafing and a cover-based system. Capcom decided to let loose some details on the new story as well:
It has been ten years since the Raccoon City incident and the President of the United States has decided to reveal the truth behind what took place in the belief that it will curb the current resurgence in bioterrorist activity. Due to be by the President’s side is his personal friend and Raccoon City survivor, Leon S. Kennedy, but when the venue suffers a bioterrorist attack, Leon is forced to face a President transformed beyond recognition and make his hardest ever decision. At the same time, Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance member Chris Redfield arrives in China, itself under threat of a bioterrorist attack. With no country safe from these attacks and the ensuing outbreaks, the entire world’s population is united by a common fear that there is no hope left.
The two last, and most important pieces of info to pass along is that the game is being produced by Hiroyuki Kobayashi, producer of Resident Evil 4, and gamers don’t have to wait long for its release. Resident Evil 6 will be out on November 20, 2012, for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.
